Terms and Conditions

1. Veterinary consent

 

Yorkshire Canine Massage are legally required to obtain written veterinary consent before treatment, in accordance with the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966. Including patients undergoing a fitness or maintenance treatment.

If at any point during a patient’s treatment they develop a new condition, an updated veterinary consent may be required and requested before further treatments can commence.

Yorkshire Canine Massage will stop or pause treatment on the advice of the referring veterinary surgeon.

Yorkshire Canine Massage reserves the right to refuse treatment to any animal.

Patients will not be seen without or before the completion of a veterinary consent form – in cases where consent has not been received by the time of the animals booked appointment, it may be cancelled or rearranged for a later date, this will be at no cost to Yorkshire Canine Massage and is the owners responsibility to provide veterinary contact details for consent to be made in an acceptable time frame before their appointment.

 

2. Animal Requirements

 

Animals suffering from contagious diseases will not be treated.

Animals suffering from sickness & diarrhoea will not be treated until they have recovered – please contact Yorkshire Canine Massage as soon as possible to rearrange your appointment if the above occurs- see below for our cancellation policy.

Please let me know of any medical changes before their session as this may be a contraindication for massage treatment, such as:

Open wounds and swelling.

Lethargy and fatigue (out of their normal behaviour)

Recent accident or injury (separate from referral condition)

Increased pain levels and discomfort – due to new or unknown injury or condition.

Animals suffering from flea infestation will not be treated and if fleas are discovered during an appointment there may be an additional charge to the client for disinfection and cleaning of treatment areas and bedding. Do not apply any flea / wormer spot on 24-48 hours before treatment.

Before an appointment:

Your Pet should not be fed for 2-3 hours before treatment – make sure fresh water is available to keep them hydrated before their session.

Please only go for a short walk for the toilet before the treatment, at least 1 hour before.

Please keep your pet clean and dry before an appointment.

 

3.Client Requirements

 

In agreeing to these Terms and Conditions, you confirm that you are the legal owner/ guardian of the animal referred for the treatment and that all information provided on the Consent Form is correct.

Whilst every care is taken of the animal undergoing treatment with Yorkshire Canine Massage, all animals receive treatment at their owner’s risk.

In some cases home visits will be agreed- it is the owners responsibility to allow access to the premises, the pet requiring treatment and that it is a safe environment for the therapist to work in.

Owners must take full responsibility in declaring and warning Yorkshire Canine Massage against potential dangerous or harmful behaviours, which may be made by the animal in question. Yorkshire Canine Massage reserves the right to decline treatment to any animal.

On booking the client agrees to the charges agreed by Yorkshire Canine Massage including travel costs when required.

 4. Appointments

Yorkshire Canine Massage reserves the right to cancel appointments due to unforeseen circumstances and will try to notify the client at the earliest opportunity. Appointments that need to be rearranged due to delay or error by Yorkshire Canine Massage will not be charged. It is the client’s responsibility to arrive on time for appointments and keep track of upcoming appointment dates & times.

5. Cancellations

Cancellations made with less than 48hours notice will be charged £20.

Cancellations on day of appointment / or missed appointments will be charged at the full appointment cost, payable before further appointment bookings.

 

6. Payment

 

Payment is due at the time of treatment via Card, Cash, or BACS.

Charges for the treatment / services will be specified based on type of service, distance of travel and appropriate discounts.

Receipt available on request.

Invoice available on request.

 

7. Insurance

 

Many insurance companies now cover massage treatment; it is the client’s responsibility to contact the insurance company regarding their policy and contact.

Yorkshire Canine Massage will not take direct insurance claims.

Yorkshire Canine Massage will if requested provide paperwork relating to your pets treatment.

Clients are responsible for completing insurance claims, as it is a contact between themselves and the insurance company.

8. Privacy, Confidentiality and Data Protection

The personal data that Yorkshire Canine Massage collect about you will include data relating to your name, address, contact details, and the health/clinical history of your animal. In agreeing for Yorkshire Canine Massage to treat your pet, you authorise Yorkshire Canine Massage to use that data for the course of the pets treatment program.

All data will be stored securely and kept for up to 7 years, as required for insurance purposes, and will be used by Yorkshire Canine Massage for communication with you. Client records are held and used in accordance with General Data Protection Regulations 2018. The data collected will be used as a record of your animal’s treatment and any changes that may occur in their health. Paper records will be stored securely in locked storage and electronic records will be stored on an external hard drive.

You have the right to request access to your data, request corrections, if any errors in the data are identified, or deletion at any time.

Information will be shared ONLY with your animal’s vet or other veterinary professionals involved in their care for the purposes of keeping them informed on patient progress and changes. Yorkshire Canine Massage will not divulge your details to any other external agencies, except for debt collection purposes.

Veterinary Consent will be requested; this may include the sharing of relevant client history and patient details, with the clients consent. With the purpose of Yorkshire Canine Massage being able to fully understand your pets needs, clinical history and progress.

Where specifically requested, Yorkshire Canine Massage will provide an insurer with case records.

Yorkshire Canine Massage retains ownership of all treatment records. Photographs and videos may be taken at appointments for the purpose of evaluation and progress monitoring. Yorkshire Canine Massage may occasionally use photos and videos on social media and marketing. Please advise at time of booking if you do not wish to have your pet used in social media or marketing.

9. Complaints

Yorkshire Canine Massage aims to provide exceptional service to clients and pets, within their scope of knowledge and understanding. Yorkshire Canine Massage will do the upmost to follow correct regulations and practices to the best of their knowledge.
